Belfast International is situated 13 miles Northwest of Belfast, almost 5.3 million people travelled through Belfast International in 2007. It is the second most popular airport in terms of passenger numbers, operated by TBI plc, who also run London Luton, Cardiff International among others.

The airfield was first introduced as a Royal Flying Corps training establishment in 1917 for the First World War. 1933 was when sustained civil flights were landing & taking off from the airport to Glasgow, then following on to London, Liverpol, Isle of Man. In 1966, the first regular jet service to Gatwick, following on in 1968, Aer Lingus & BOAC welcomed flights to New York via Shannon and Prestwick.
