UK citizens do not require a passport or visa to enter Ireland, but should carry some form of photo-ID. Non-UK nationals must have a valid passport or national ID card. EU nationals and travelers from the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa need only show a passport. Visitors of all other nationalities should contact their local Irish Embassy/Consulate. Northern Ireland has three airports, the main one being Belfast International. The other two are, Belfast City and Derry. The Republic of Ireland has several airports including Aran Islands, Cork, Donegal, Dublin, Galway, Kerry, Knock, Shannon, Sligo and Waterford. The major airports, however, are Dublin, Belfast and Shannon. The Irish national carrier is Aer Lingus providing transcontinental flights from the US as well as flights within Ireland. From the US American Airlines and Delta service the main airports. From the UK, there are many choices. Leading the pack are British Airways, Air France, EasyJet, Ryanair, and Air Southwest.
