Cork City is located in the county of Cork and is the administrative centre being the principal city. The city has a total population of 119,143, excluding the additional statistics from the suburban areas within Cork, which would bring the total to 190,384. Being built on the River Lee, it features the worlds second largest natural harbour. Having the city built on an island in the middle of the river, the city becomes home to quaint stroles and some beautiful sites.

Cork has theatre, film, dance and music all playing a prominent role in the city, having such educational presence with the Cork school of Music, the Crawford College of Art and Design and the University College Cork. It features architecturally notable structures from the medieval age to modern periods, the Red Abbey being the only building left from the old age.
