Driving Licence
Drivers must produce a full valid unendorsed driving licence at the commencement of rental which they have held for a minimum of two years.
They must also have been eligible to hold a valid driving license for at least the number of years specified:
car groups 1-9: eight years
car group 10 (People Carrier): ten years
car groups 9, 11, 12, 13 (Executive Car, Luxury Car, 4x4 and Minibus): twelve years
Customers with a new Photocard Driver's Licence must produce both the Photocard and its paper counterpart. Visitors from overseas must produce a driving licence issued in their country of permanent residence, along with a translation into English (where appropriate). Only the renter or drivers approved by Budget are permitted to drive the vehicle.

Additional Drivers
Additional drivers can be added when picking up the car. There is no need to prebook.
Republic of Ireland: EUR €9.50 per day
Northern Ireland: GBP £7.50 per day
Payment
Driver must have one of the following credit cards when picking up the car.
Mastercard, Visa, American Express
Debit cards will not be accepted.
Specified value prepaid Credit Cards are not acceptable as a form of payment or as deposit.
Fuel
Fuel is not included in your quotation. If you bring the car back full you will be refunded your fuel deposit (the cost of a full tank)
Child Seats
Child Seat are available at the location when picking up the car.
Republic of Ireland: EUR €45.40 per rental
Northern Ireland: GBP £36.00 per rental
Barrier free tolling
It is the renter’s responsibility to pay any tolls due on the M50 motorway (Dublin’s ring road)
Airport Surcharge / Premium Location Surcharge
In common with many car rental companies a standard airport surcharge will apply to your rental when picking up from an airport or city centre location.
Republic of Ireland: EUR €28 per rental
Northern Ireland: GBP £23.50 per rental
One way rentals
One way fees are included in your quotation.
Cross Border Driving
Budget cars may not be taken outside the Republic of Ireland, and Northern Ireland.
Insurance
Your quotation includes all mandatory insurance.
- Third Party - damage or injury to a third party
- Theft Protection - damages or losses caused by theft of vehicle
- Collision Damage Waiver - this cover means that if your vehicle is involved in a collision your liability for damage caused to the vehicle is relinquished (excluding tyres, wheels, windscreens and satellite navigation units). This cover carries an excess which you are liable for. See table below for excess amounts. This excess can optionally be reduced to zero by taking out the additional Excess Waiver Insurance.

The following optional insurance can be taken out at the time of rental.
- Personal Accident / Personal Effects Insurance - This optional insurance can be purchased for EUR € 8 per day in the Republic of Ireland, or GBP £6.75 per day in Northern Ireland, and provides extensive benefits in case of injury / death.
- Excess Waiver - This reduces the excess to zero. See table below for pricing per day.
Budget reserve the right to charge a deposit equal to the excess if the renter declines the Excess Waiver. The Excess Waiver provides complete "Peace of Mind" cover.
